Phase 1 – Planning
 Planning is critical to any project. 3W Site Designs has a questionnaire we use to start the planning phase. Sample areas of consideration are:
- What are your goals and what are the results you desire from your website? As mentioned above, designing a site for a teacher to post class assignments on is totally different that creating a site to increase sales.
- Who are your customers? Knowing your audience is a key to designing a website that your visitor will be comfortable with. A site that caters to senior citizens will be worlds apart from a site that caters to young children.
- Which website designs appeal to you? What image do you want to project? Which websites do you not like and why not?
- Who are your main competitors? 3W Site Designs will research your competitors websites (much as one would research brick and mortar competitors) as part of the planning process.
Phase 2 – Development
Development is the actual building of the website. 3W Site Designs will ask you to sign off on each phase of the development  process to ensure we are meeting your goals.
Since search engines are what bring most of the visitors to your site, an important area of design is ensuring the web pages are built not only with people in mind, but with search engines in mind. 3W Site Designs develops your pages with keywords and phrases that will attract search engines.
The look of a design is important, but the copy (content) is just as important. 3W Site Designs can assist with as much of the copy writing process as you require.
Once a draft of the site is ready, 3W Site Designs will, depending on your preference, either demo the site at your location, or will load the site on a private viewing area on the internet for your review.
Phase 3 – Deployment
Deployment is going live with your website. Several areas included here are:
- Uploading your new website to its permanent home
- Registering your site with the major search engines and directories
- Pay-per-click and pay-per-inclusion (if requested by you) marketing with search engines
Phase 4 – Maintenance of your site
